February Newsletter 2020 (Baltimore, Austin, Denver, and Beyond)

Greetings beautiful beings, It has been a wonderful whirlwind of a year thus far, and we have only just begun. The last weekend of January felt like such an energizing gift in the form of a full weekend of classes with TMG, FAD, & The NC-Triangle Spanker’s Clubin Raleigh, North Carolina. On Friday night people opened up their life experiences and shared about their sex lives, Saturday we dove into exploring kink, the kind community, and leather identity and culture, and Sunday I was so proud of the crew for absorbing vast amounts of information in the morning as we talked about sex,…

January Newsletter 2020 (NC, MD, and Audio)

Much love from my new office space in Austin! Out my second-story window are big beautiful trees that come the spring will fill everything with green. The creek-bed is currently dry, but when the rains hit in random bursts, it will be great. In short, this place is magic waiting to happen. I moved to Austin just between Yule and Christmas, driving with my friend Mia and my Ma’am, Ms. Cenna, across icy Colorado, through the edge of New Mexico, and through a full day of Texas to find our way here. What a gift of a place. Like Denver,…

Reflecting and Setting Goals 2019-2020

The end of the year is often a time for setting goals for the new year, but both this wonderful post and my friend Darrell have reminded me that not only do we need to look forward, but we get to look back and savor our successes. This year blew me away. It has been so rich that as I began to write this list I was really in awe of how much this past year has held. As someone who can get kind of blasé about the world around me when I am having mood challenges, it was a refreshing opportunity…

December Newsletter 2019

Hello beautiful beings, The last few weeks have been an amazing whirlwind, such a wonderful way to start my next decade on this planet. Thanksgiving was my 40th birthday, born in Lowell, Massachusetts when both my parents were based at the Fort Devens army base. My mother used to joke that when she was in two days of labor they had a 10 pound turkey, and two days later she had one of her own. Thus, to be writing from the Boston area today having just returned stateside, it feels fitting for this newsletter. It has been an amazing birthday…

November Newsletter (TX and Beyond)

Hello beautiful beings, I write to you from a crisp and beautiful day in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I was honored to be brought out for officiating the Norse-style handfasting of two wonderful individuals. There were oaths, tokens exchanged, mead, handfasting cords, and a beautiful view as close family and friends bore witness. When I officiate commitment ceremonies, it is a multi-month process of working with me about relationship visioning, planning for the years going forward, and planning the whys and whats of the ceremony as well. It delights me to see such things manifest. This coming month is on the quiet side…

APEx Conference and Changing Pony Identities

Hello beautiful beings! I write to you today from the Approachable Power Exchange (APEx) Conference in Denver, Colorado. Unlike some kink conferences that focus on how-to skills and parties, this event is entirely on relationship and self-awareness skills. Last night was a cigar social (yes, in 50 degree temperatures) and lots of quality conversations inside near the silent raffle table. One that will stick with me for a long time was talking with Tromper, the current North American Pony title holder, as we talked about somatic experiences of play and identity. He asked why I no longer pony’d as Ponygirl…

October Newsletter: Austin, Denver, Boston, and Australia Debrief

Hello beautiful beings, I’m back in Texas and I’m so glad it’s no longer in the 100s here. Though I like the heat, it is nice to have a break in it here in Austin. My body however is feeling far more grateful for having mostly kicked my walking pneumonia – though I know the last of it will likely be with me for a few more weeks. That’s right, I managed to get pneumonia while teaching in Melbourne, Australia 2 weeks ago. That meant whenever I wasn’t teaching, I was flat in bed with a hacking cough… good stuff.…

September News: AK, KS, Australia, and possibility models

Hello beautiful beings! I write to you from Anchorage, Alaska, having just finished a week-long Alaskan cruise with family. Though I lived in Alaska for over five years, I never had the opportunity to head further south than the Kenai Penninsula, so the chance to see Skagway, Juneau, and Sitka was a delight, as well as see a variety of glaciers up close.  In Alaska, it is not possible to ignore climate change. The Mendenhall Glacier, which had been retreating at a pace of 100-150 feet a year for a while, retreated over 800 feet this year according to folks…

August 2019 Newsletter: BC, KS, Melbourne, and beyond!

Hello beautiful beings, Today I feel deeply blessed. I am sitting poolside in Dallas, enjoying quality conversations and time with people I appreciate. The heat in Texas is intense though, with sweat beading up on brows and gratitude each time I change into a new tank top.  Later this month, I’m looking forward to visiting Vancouver, British Colombia, where I will be teaching “Power Exchange, Energy Exchange” on at Metro Vancouver Kink (MVK). This will be on the way to a cruise with my father and two of my cousins up to Alaska, before heading back through the Kansas City Area.…
