May Newsletter (HI, MD, TX, Philly, CO and beyond)

Merry Beltane, Happy May Day, and International Workers’ Day!

This May Day finds me in Kaelakekua, Hawai’I, just south of Kona. I’m visiting family, and it has been interesting getting to see my cousins as time goes on – I am the oldest of my generation at 39 years old (eldest child of the eldest brother), and my youngest cousin is 9 (youngest child of the youngest brother). She has sprung up like a weed, and her siblings are both over 18 now. Quite a shift from when I last saw them. The week has held lots of time for story, watching sunsets on the lanai, and even time to get sunburnt on my knees out on the kayak.

Walking along the road in Captain Cook, Hawai'i - beautiful views.

The other thing about visiting back to the big island has been the vog not being here anymore. When the Kīlauea eruptionbegan in 1983, a volcanic fog (vog) settled around parts of the island based on the shifts in the weather. Vog warnings on the island were not uncommon, similar to folks in big cities sometimes being given smog warnings when the smog is toxic to be around. Well, in the past year, even with the most recent flows that took out over 700 homes in the southeast of the island, the vog has mostly lifted. Blue skies. Clear lines of achingly beautiful blue-greens, pale blues, fine mists of dew that are clear.

Even in the midst of continuing and sometimes painful change, the vog lifted.

It is a good reminder that even when things are in the midst of continuing and changing in life, our own emotional vog can lift as well.

May and June have me back on north Maryland for Camp Crucibleand Dark Odyssey Fusion, as well as attending the conference for the American Association for Sexuality Educators, Councilors, and Therapists (AASECT) conferencein Philadelphia. There is also another potential project in the work for mid-June, so stay tuned :) I’m also attending an altar-building and devotional practice intensivein Boulder, Colorado that looks like it will be a rich source of inspiration and spiritual technology as a spirit-worker, and maybe I can see some of y’all there as well.

My Patreon projectcontinues this month, and it has been great to share such diverse material with folks this last month. There will be another audio class from the vaults going up soon, so I hope you all enjoy! Consider joining us there to get content not seen by others.

Yours in Passion And Soul,

Aloha and Mahalo,

Lee Harrington
