Edgiest scene???
So, Boymeat just posted this rant:http://boymeat.livejournal.com/266236.htmlabout this event happening in Denver:http://www.denversanctuary.com/061706.htmlI too, am deeply offended on a number of levels, not by the existance of an event that supports edge play scenes (fuck, I was one of the original creators of the idea of "Squickfest" when Tom and I almost got shut down for a suspended punching bag scene in SF)- but that there is a competition? Who judges? Plus, what does this really give the players involved? Bragging rights it says? WTF. I am baffled on so many levels.I love edge play, as it is defined, but not because it gives me bragging rights.I love breath play because I find it deeply intimate and trust filled.I adore needles and knives because I have an intense primal connection with blood.I enjoy interrogation, hypnosis, and other mental play because it pushes my limits emotionally.I do gun play because it terrifys me and gets me wet.I happen to be a size queen and enjoy large object insertion.I am good at rope and enjoy it as a tool and art form, from torture bondage to sexy suspensions.Extreme pain play as a bottom lets me fly, see visions, or just feel cathartic release.I like making my partners go to their perceived limits then take one baby step further while I hold their hand...But I am not only an edge player. I enjoy a wide variety of levels of play, and prefer to play with my and my partner's level... so WTF is an "Extreme Scene Competition"? Will hooks and blades win out over subtle hypnosis exploration of phobias? What about people falling in love?
