It has been a busy week of teaching (love languages, gender & power exchange, butt bondage, service that service), whew! I’m so glad that last weekend Ms. Cenna and I had relaxed time of movies, kink, and connection (which she touched on in her kinky blog entry), including her doing this beautiful tree cutting on the back of my neck. It was wonderful to have complete down time with her after last weekend being canning, canning, and more canning, as well as having the break before this busy week.

This weekend will be about education for me from the other side for me. Today I am volunteering for The Gathering NW doing tech for their “Dark Age Play Play Panel” but have plans to attend a few other classes (3 tracks of education from 9a-11p Pacific) in the afternoon/evening… because after the panel I will be hopping over to “History of BIPOC in Leather” hosted by ONYX Northwest. Both of these events are pay-what-you-can, so perhaps you will stop on by.

I’ve had a few folks ask me my opinion on WAP by Cardi B featuring Megan Three Stallion. Instead of being yet another white man sharing his opinion on black women’s sexuality, I would much rather share this NPR interview with Taylor Crumpton. Taylor is a music, pop culture, and politics writer and editor and the four minutes are worth your time and energy.

What I will instead share with you are the notes from the Online Teaching Tools discussion two weeks ago. Unfortunately the Jamboard being used was cleared, but these four pages of tools, attendee tricks, and things to consider as online educators (and perhaps as attendees too). Have fun! I know I did.

    When a baby is born, we lift them up and declare “it’s a boy” or “it’s a girl,” but the world of gender is more complex than this. We will examine the terminology around gender identity and transgender issues while looking at the differences and crossovers between sex, gender, and orientation. From medical care to chromosomes beyond xx/xy, legal issues to culture’s belief of what gender roles are “supposed” to look like, let’s look at humanity through a broader lens!

    How do you endeavor toward creating Power Equity in your sexual and kinky relationships? Power dynamics permeate every part of our lives and interactions. Creating genuine consent culture would be easier if everything was equal; but in our complex world, things are rarely if ever equal. This is true in life, in sex, and in kink. Things become even more complex when adding consensual power exchange dynamics in a society with intrinsic power imbalances. Join our expert panelists in unpacking these complexities and questions:
    -What are the unspoken power differentials that degrade a person's capacity to give and receive consent?
    -How can power be used, both intentionally and unintentionally, to remove or diminish agency?
    -How can you uphold consent with clear communication, while actively engaging differences in power?
    -What are the associated risks and erotic benefits?
    -How have lived experiences helped the panelists practice better skills?
