LadySpeech, Supporting Our Own, and Musical Eroticism

Hello beautiful beings,

There is an amazing speaker, activist, sex worker, and spiritual leader that I need to introduce you to. If you already know the work, good, because you will likely agree that if folks don’t  know about LadySpeeck Sankofa, they should.

If you have ever seen the first powerful images of a black woman smudging the police, that is LadySpeech (shown). If you are someone who is inspired by divination, spirit work, and kink alike – that is LadySpeech. If you believe in revolutionary voices for Black lives and liberation, mixed with attitude, sass, and profound power – that is LadySpeech. LadySpeech is this much and more.

In the last month or so, Instagram deleted LadySpeech’s entire account, which I believe had almost 20,000 followers who were receiving wisdom, activism resources, hope, and power from their work (LadySpeech uses a variety of pronouns and the powerfully claimed honorifics of Goddess and King as well). Facebook (same parent company) shut down LadySpeech’s personal profile, and their pro page seems to have been perhaps frozen. Luckily, even though still affiliated, their twitter still seems operational and they have moved their production of footage to YouTube.

The loss of their Instagram hits my heart hard, and LadySpeech had hundreds, if not thousands, of daily inspiring videos that changed the lives of so many. Ones that kick you in the ass or lift you up to your power. Ones that tapped into divinity and ones that tapped into raw erotic power.

LadySpeech made their full time living between this powerful activism work, speaking, and professional domination. The first two, as many of you know from my own change in work realities, have been deeply affected… and with this hit – they need our support.

Check them out. This week I’m hosting a discussion of rhythm and music in play, but sometimes rhythm is about both rhythm over time (another fantastic opportunity to learn about Black ancestral wisdom that changed up my world) and the rhythms of what is right.

This week, come join me at:

Are there certain styles of music that get you hot and bothered? Tunes that you hear and the mood is suddenly gone? What do we do when our music does (or doesn’t) match that of a lover. How do you build your perfect playlists? Many of us have embedded erotic memory – that which was playing when we were first evolving as sexual beings or coming into our own as erotic individuals. Let’s get together to discuss (and share) the music that does it for us, take apart what about it does it for us, and how that music ended up triggering those responses as well. Bring your music if you would like as well, so folks can get into your beat, your mind, your sexy self.
Donations encouraged to attend, none required.

I also have other classes and events coming up in the next few weeks that you may be interested in:

To check out other classes and intensives, visit my Upcoming Appearances page to learn more. From there you can sign up for my free newsletter as well. To enjoy further free material from me, consider joining me over on Patreon :)

Much love to you all and see you soon!
