Transgender and Sacred Sex Podcasts Galore

As my long-term readers are aware, I have a deep love for podcasting. It has given me an opportunity to discuss a broad variety of topics from different directions. Each person we interact with gives us a new mirror to reflect, a new voice to hear echoing in our mind and heart alike. It's why I've been running my own podcast since January 2011.

Since my book Traversing Gender: Understanding Transgender Realities came out, I've had the chance to be on numerous different podcasts, each offering their own perspective on the topic. These different voices found different focuses from which to examine the topic of gender and transgender realities.

With Graydancer at the Ropecast, I had a chance to discuss trans issues, rope bondage culture, leather, and how we each have fun in the context of self-identity. People who have different gender journeys interact with bondage differently, providing opportunities and challenges alike. Ropes, themselves, know no gender.

At The People of Kink, Crazyheart and I had a chance to discuss sacred kink, trans issues, and finding solutions for each of us to get our desires met. It can feel tricky to traverse these topics, but through connection and an open heart, we have a chance to do exactly that. That thread of negotiation and sacred sexuality continued with Rope Squirrel at Kink In The Chain. Discussing partnerships of all sort, we looked as well at some listener questions about their own gender issues, and how allies can help, creating additional tools for listeners.Turning an eye towards a tantric worldview in which all sexuality and life has a chance to be fully invested in power and authenticity, Devi Ward had me on her show Sex Is Medicine. We dived into how each person needs to find the power behind their own gender awareness, and in turn how all sexuality, kink included, has the power to heal our hearts. Passion and soul dance hand in hand, after all, and whether it is through sensuality or ordeal, kink tools have a chance to open us up.On the flip-side of connection, Mistress SinD and Reverend Jon had me on Bliss Bringers. A kink and swinger podcast, we talked about rejection that affects all sexual people, trans people playing in the swinger communities, and discussed lots of personal stories from all parties. This was a fun podcast that led to me finding clear ways to talk about so many sexuality topics in ways I hadn't found before - in an unlikely setting.

Moving back into sacred space, Michael and Dr. Susan Harper brought me on All Acts of Love and Pleasure Radio to dive in deep for discussions of gender, paganism, and ally-ship. When we took an unexpected turn into the topic of incarceration issues for trans people and those with non-monotheistic spirituality alike, it was heart-wrenching and important, and I'm grateful to have gotten to go there.

Over on Poly Weekly, Cunning Minx and I discussed the book itself. Why did I write it and how can people be trans allies to those they care about, but along the way we discussed my own journey, and how different gender journeys can affect relationship dynamics. Plus of course - sex tips for everyone that make sex hotter and more connected for trans people. This includes a hot description of some safer sex practices that are super-sexy.

The most recent podcast I was on is actually coming out in 3 parts, because Charley Sabrina Miller from Changes in Latitude kept finding more things to discuss. We shift over time from issues for trans men that are different than those of trans women, the diversity of gender journeys, and our own individual paths. In time we moved to resources, gender theory, allyship, and the challenges that face trans people of color. And... so much more! I'm excited to see the rest of this series come out.

Interested in keeping up with these as they come out? Feel free to keep an eye on my Media Appearances page, like my Facebook page, or follow me on Twitter! See those buttons to the right? Those are even more options.

And while you are here, a side note to please support the Sacred Stones Camp at Standing Rock. In response to the attempted Dakota Pipeline through native land, this has become the largest gathering of Native tribes in modern history. They need supplies, legal fund support, and more. Help get the word out, and help make a difference.
