Birthday Thoughts, Witchy-ness, and D/s

Hello beautiful beings,

Today is my personal New Years, with my mother finally birthing me after days of hard work in the hospital just off base where she was stationed at Fort Devens in Massachusetts. She used to joke that at the hospital they has a 10 pound turkey, and a few days later she had one of her own, a smirk on her face and a huge hug.  Historically, I would have called her this morning to say thank you, and share my gratitude for all of her work and love for raising this quirky, loving, spiritual, academic, trouble-maker. Nowadays that is not an option, so instead I share my gratitude with the world.

I feel such gratitude as I cross over into my next year on the planet. It was a delight to spend the midnight hours with my friend Strider, my 20-years apart birthday twin (same hospital and all) on life, religion, academia, and so much more. I am grateful for hard conversations and moments handled with grace in life. Gratitude for friends far and wide, students and fans, those who I learn from and those who learn from me in turn. Grateful for hearth and home, food and medical care. Deep gratitude to Mother Bear for my chance to do her Will, and to the Star Goddess for gifting space for my devotion. I am grateful for families of blood, leather, and heart, to my mad collection of allies too. I am grateful to the next year ahead, no matter where it takes me.
