Going Under The Blade: Surgery Info

So, yesterday I met with my OB/GYN, the fantastic Dr. Steven Leband.  I am formally slated for a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy on Tuesday November 30th at 10:30am.  Check-in, at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, will be 2 hours prior.Timing wise, I'm amused- this will be 2 days after my 31st birthday.  I told myself, and my mother, than due to family history of severe birth complications, that I would never try to have a first child after the age of 30.  Well, I'm keeping my word mom ;)  Actually, this surgery is family history related- I have both Ovarian Cysts and Uterine Fybroids, and those fybroids are both reoccurring and sometimes cancerous on my mother's side.  Add my current drug regimen to the mix, and yeah, I choose to undergo a hysterectomy rather than deal with the high likelihood or re-occurrence, and my current pain level. So, details!I will be in the hospital at least until the afternoon of December 1st.  Latest release, late night December 2nd, unless there are complications.  I am bussing to my surgery (because I'm like that), but will be needing a ride home.I have been asked to have someone stay with me the first 24hrs I am home, but I have been told that actual on-call humans is fine if no one wants to crash with me.Once home, I will need physical assistance for the week or two after with heavy lifting, grocery shopping, laundry, etc. Thus, I put a call out to my Phoenix region friends!Sign up for shifts :)I am seeking folks on the 1st and 2nd who can be potential drivers and check-in humans.December 3-10, and 14, I would like a human (or group of humans) a day to swing by my place, visit, kick it with me, see if I need anything, maybe watch a film or chat, help me with laundry, do a bank run for me, whatever.December 13 I would like a ride at 7:45am to my post-surgical doctors appointment. My calendar is here:http://passionandsoul.com/faq/calendarAs humans claim dates, I will add their names to those dates.  A ? on the name means its not confirmed, and I would prefer to have 2 groups/individuals visit a day than none.So if you are game, let me know!To my non-Phoenix friends:Thank you all for your concern, love, and energy. Please do *not* send Reiki healing energy, I am allergic/intolerant to that modality of energy work.If you feel compelled to buy things, for my birthday or as healing recovery gifts, here is my Amazon wishlist:http://amzn.com/w/2N1O2PXL9PNMYor send donations via my paypal donation button (look to the left of the page here at PassionAndSoul.com)If you want to help me make the world a better place, donate to one of these groups in my honor:

Please resist sending flowers to the hospital.  I adore flowers, and would love them at home... though it may be more effective financially to send money to a Phoenix friend of mine and have them bring them by... and give the money difference to one of the charities above.Thank you ALL again for your fantastic support and love.  I appreciate it so much.
