Stardust and Witchhunts

I just finished watching Stardust. Why oh why had I not seen this movie before? DeNero. In a dress. Hot. OMG. The rest was good, but wow, the character surprises had me rolling.Witches. So the movie paints witches in negative light, but witchcraft (ie the mother) in very positive light... a tool that can be used, and for good. So why is witchcraft, magic, being looked at by anti-Palin pagans as such a bad thing?Ok, I agree as much as any other non-evangelical-christian that Palin's church is a tad wacknutty. Alaska as the site of the rise to heaven, laying on of hands, blessings against witchcraft to run for governor... ok, so it may not be our cup of tea. But protection spells are spells people, even if they are from kenyan priests whose views we vehemently disagree with. They have the right in this day and age to throw them, just as much as we have the right to throw "keep Palin the fuck out of office" spells around- and I know you've done it- ok, *you* haven't done it- but *you* (looks knowing) have.Having walked in on hundreds of folks throwing energy on washington and being asked to do spells of political change that weren't my cup of tea (and walking out), I know some of you do it. So why shouldn't Palin's folks put up wards? It may in fact seem reasonable to those of that do psychic self defense work, or outright magical dueling.Its a duel folks. If not outright energetic combat. The next presidency. And whomever gets the job is going to have a really tough set of problems to clean up. They will have to make hard choices and pass some policies that may hurt. And we can throw our energy, our love, our votes- behind who we believe in.And in my opinion- so can Palin.Mind you, having her get the #2 chair scares the bejeesus out of me. Literally. With McCain's health, omg, I so have -213% interest in her anywhere near a place where she can help launch Armageddon to speed up the rapture coming to Anchorage. Just saying. But wow, the hatred as our response... saddens me.Take your energy and do something with it.Donate to Planned Parenthood and do it in her name.Support the Obama campaign.Hell, support the Paris Hilton campaign for all I care.Vote.Volunteer for a local group in need.Do *something*.Just make sure you're not just complaining about potential witchhunts.But know that she is using counter-magic... so if, say, you are doing spellwork- consider beefing it up ;)
