A tale of hair, cross-posted from my yahoo group

Hi Mike!I shaved my head this summer- but what has happened is that in the 2nd half of 2003 and the first half of 2004, I shot TONS of content for the site while travelling around... and since I put up 3-4 sets a week, and during that 12 month period I was shooting an average of 8 sets a week (I was a photo slut, and still am), I have a LOT of images that haven't made it out... so my thought was that for a while I'm going to keep it mixed up- images of me shaved, images of me in wigs, and images before the baldness. Variety. The sets this week with hair are in fact my hair, when it was long.As for when/if I will grow it out again- I've been yo-yoing between bald and 1/2" of hair since I shaved it. My plan is to keep is short/bald at least until May, when I will start growing it out for a while because a friend of mine, Geb, is going to be putting in extensions for me in late July or Early August, and she needs enough hair to work with.A tale of hair:When I was 5 or 6, I started becoming active on swim team and other aquatic sports. I came home one day with the most horrid knot in my hair, and mi Madre turned to me and told me to get the rats tooth comb- one of those fine little combs with the long handle for doing braids or getting rid of knots. I whined. Horribly. She told me to stop whining or she'd just cut it all off. I kept whining. She grabbed a bowl and gave me a pageboy.Since then I have gone from short to long and back and forth... it was long until 5 or 6, then short until 8th grade, then for freshman year I'd grown my hair out long enough that it hung almost to my shoulders and was pitch black with a blood red streak down the front- an attempt to be angry and goth... I'd forgotten my school colors were red, black and white- so when I showed up angry and punk to the homecoming game (I was on journalism staff, and had friends on football team and cheerleading), everyone looked at my pale skin, red eyeliner and black lipstick and said "great spirit"... I was very annoyed.Sophmore year of University I had gone from yellow to pink to natural colors- and then had an accident with a perm that left me a white girl with a fro. It was horrid. So before heading to Europe for school I went to a friend of mine and said "Do it"- and he took me down to *almost* bald (maybe 1/4") with long sideburns... it was great. I loved it. I went to Germany, then England and Ireland, wearing big goggles and looking cute and industrial.I kept my hair fairly short for a while, then was asked by my then-Master to grow my hair out. I couldn't say no :) So since then I've been growing my hair out... until this summer, when after contemplating it for over a year, I finally went bald after talking with a few folks who told me yup, it was okay to be sexy *and* bald.I'm happy with the look. But I love variety.
