Feri Magic: Wild Magic

Last night, I had the pleasure of being on stage for a fundraiser for Mad Myrna's. The well-known Anchorage local gay bar is the kind of place that hosts drag queen shows, dancing nights, nightly karaoke, and their main stage gets converted a few times Mad Myrna's Bara year for local fringe theatre performances. Recently, there was a small fire upstairs, and the local community came together for a variety show to help raise funds. It was a lovely mix of poetry/spoken word, drag (kings and queens), live music, and an auction that featured everything from tickets to a local mini-golf course, gift certificates to restraints, and "Boy Butter" lube.It has been a while since I've gotten to perform poetry live. Last year my poetry book On Starry Thighs came out, and it was nice to pull a total of 7 pieces from it out, sculpted into a story of what brought me to Alaska, as well as what Myrna's has meant to me. In two sets, I watched the crowd go silent as I spoke about Orlando, reminisce as I remarked about relationships that went wrong, and squirm as I passionately read my poem "A Servant's Prayer" which intimately discusses anal fisting. There isn't enough anal fisting poetry out there, after all.The first piece I did last night is the following one. It is a reflection on my own faith, and my own beliefs in living life fully. You can get your copy of On Starry Thighs: Sacred and Sensual Poetry here or here, and for collectors, there is a limited-edition signed, numbered, and hand-painted hard-bound edition available here.Starry Thighs Poetry BookFeri Magic: Wild MagicGive me messy magicGive me wild loveGive me the tears, sweat and cum of the Gods.I refuse to pussyfootAround the pagan rootsOf my heart. My faith is inclusiveA sea of sunBathing us all in the rose window of reality.I see Goddesses orgasmGods fuckSiblings dance hand in hand.My GoddessIs not a dangling godWith breasts glued on.I will notWorshipFrom afar.I cherish my wildnessMy integrated pathsMy blue eyes wide with wonder.Come dance with meIn open grovesAnd downtown orgies.Dance with meLover, sister, brother, friendDance with me in this messy magic.Breathe airTread soilSwim deepGaze into the flame.Drink in all possibilitiesNot just the guiseNo matter your path.Find your truthMake your faithFour dimensional. My hands are openArms readyWaitingFor when you are called to my sideTo rideThis wild magic.
