Birthday Thoughts, Witchy-ness, and D/s

Hello beautiful beings,

Today is my personal New Years, with my mother finally birthing me after days of hard work in the hospital just off base where she was stationed at Fort Devens in Massachusetts. She used to joke that at the hospital they has a 10 pound turkey, and a few days later she had one of her own, a smirk on her face and a huge hug.  Historically, I would have called her this morning to say thank you, and share my gratitude for all of her work and love for raising this quirky, loving, spiritual, academic, trouble-maker. Nowadays that is not an option, so instead I share my gratitude with the world.

I feel such gratitude as I cross over into my next year on the planet. It was a delight to spend the midnight hours with my friend Strider, my 20-years apart birthday twin (same hospital and all) on life, religion, academia, and so much more. I am grateful for hard conversations and moments handled with grace in life. Gratitude for friends far and wide, students and fans, those who I learn from and those who learn from me in turn. Grateful for hearth and home, food and medical care. Deep gratitude to Mother Bear for my chance to do her Will, and to the Star Goddess for gifting space for my devotion. I am grateful for families of blood, leather, and heart, to my mad collection of allies too. I am grateful to the next year ahead, no matter where it takes me.

This tarot spread is by the folks at Don’t Call Me Witchy, adapted from one of the spreads by Emerald Lotus Divination. If you do divination work at all, and are not familiar with Emerald Lotus’ collection of spreads, it is a great (and free) place to find tools and inspiration for use. Which, as a note, for my witchy, pagan, or divination-curious folks, I have a treat for you. This Wednesday will be an open discussion/Q&A on all such things, and on December 14th I’m set to teach “Choosing and Connecting with Divination Decks” for Wicked Grounds. I’m looking forward to doing this spread tonight as part of some self-assessment and reflection work, and will be sharing it with my patrons.

Thinking of classes, general registration is open for both my “Simplest Toybag: Creative Uses for Rope” on December 2nd, and my January 22nd-24th Delving Into Power D/s intensive:

I always share registration opportunities for my intensives over on Patreon so join us over there if you would be interested in future intensives, such as one on a different topic that will be happening in the early spring. If folks are unfamiliar with my Delving Into Power intensive, it is 3 days of identity, desires, skills, and connection tools for people engaging in dominance, submission, power exchange, authority transfer, and other such dynamics. You do not have to be partnered to attend (but can be, or have it be your whole polyamorous squad), and attendees range from being interested for less than a year to people who have been passionate about the topic for over 20 years. It is limited to 18 attendees (plus staff), and over half the tickets are already taken. Check it out today.

This week, come join me at:

I also have other classes and events coming up in the next few weeks that you may be interested in:

To check out other classes and intensives, visit my Upcoming Appearances page to learn more. From there you can sign up for my free newsletter as well. To enjoy further free material from me, consider joining me over on Patreon 🙂

Much love to you all and see you soon!
