Sacred Kink, Teaching Skills, Exploring Racism, and Merry Solstice!

Hello beautiful beings,

“Balance” by Galley Hill

Much love to you on Summer Solstice (or Winter Solstice for my friends and fans in Australia, New Zealand, and Southern Africa). Here in Texas we were blessed with a brief rain last night and the winds have stilled, allowing my Ma’am to be able to burn all of the branches and other material cut down around her property while I scrubbed the bathroom and did the laundry – this is the life of two sexuality educators sometimes. It’s not always writing, teaching, and intense conversations of the heart.

I do, however, have a deep passion for teaching. This week gave me a few chances to do so, sharing lots of ideas for negotiating with others over at Wicked Grounds, and then leading a passionate conversation about the intersections of power exchange and consensual non-monogamy. There have been so many requests for all of the great resources that were shared in that discussion that I have compiled those links as well as some notes on the major categories we covered in this resource sheet here. Thank you to everyone who contributed their life experiences and knowledge, while also asking some important and personal questions.

That power continued on Wednesday afternoon when I had the honor to be on a panel/group discussion about “Racism by Whites, for Whites” hosted by xiaoyi Drake. It is imperative that those of  us who are not Black discuss racism, especially when it makes us uncomfortable. The folks who sent in some questions had a lot of bravery, and it allowed us to discuss not just the blatant and obvious racism in society, but the subtle racism and cultural constructs in such concepts as “how can I be racist if I have a Black friend” and “but what about reverse racism?” People shared some deep tenderness and I am grateful to xiaoyi for hosting it. Let’s all keep having these conversations, I know I will be.

Then of course was Thursday night when I got to debut my “choosing and connecting with your tarot/oracle deck” discussion. You can find it now to enjoy at Centered Hearth’s Facebook page. It was a wonderful group of folks to pop my tarot-class cherry with, thank you all for joining me. I’m laughing at continuing to get to know the deck I chose for the class 🙂 I occasionally offer divination readings/sessions, and actually just listed a new option on Patreon for monthly coaching, discussion, or divination sessions too. For folks looking for shorter sessions, I also am doing short readings at “Tarot Tuesday,” with only a handful of slots open… so book today.

Thinking of teaching, I put out a poll last week on my Patreon page asking folks what topics they would like to see me teach or discuss as part of my Wednesday series. Rising to the top surprised me a bit, but I’m excited for it… Teaching Skills. Thus, this Wednesday I will be teaching “Finding Your Unique Voice as an Educator”! A few hours later I am honored to get to bring to the online world a class on “Sacred Kink: The Eightfold Paths of BDSM and Beyond,” where I break down various routes to altered states of consciousness through our erotic and kink experiences, and help people find ways to tap into these diverse ways into and on their own journey.

And now, an Easter Egg as it were for those who read all the way to the bottom of the newsletter… I am debuting an online version of my 3-day D/s and Power Exchange intensive “Delving Into Power” the last full weekend of July, with only 21 tickets… and only 8 left. The first ones went to Patreon supporters and others who are close to the project. If you want to learn about future intensives, folks on Patreon (Behind the Scenes level and above) always get first peek at them. This will likely sell out in the next few days, so get your tickets now.

This week:

To check out other classes I have coming up in June, visit my Upcoming Appearances page to learn more. They include courses on switching it around in the bedroom at the Virtual Intimacy Retreat (with Ms. Cenna), doing tarot readings at Divination Tuesday… and more to be announced soon.

Much love to you all and see you soon!
