TES Fest Part 3: The Monday After

I awoke at Boymeat’s place, and spent a half hour on the phone with a student of mine in DC, arranging our schedules and talking about desire and intent. When R and Boymeat finally woke up, we had nibbles, took a tour on the rooftop walkway overlooking the river, and then put me on the train heading towards downtown.

I adore the subway. It’s strange but true. That you can have passing connection with strangers- eyes caught in a glint of light and romance for 1.2 seconds as you rush to catch the train, or be left totally alone with your thoughts. I dove into my book after hopping on the N train into Brooklyn, burying myself in the exploits of Kushiel’s Chosen as she trudged her way into history. I thought of trudging my way into history… who follows me? What mark will I leave? Who will aide me in making my marque and building a future?

((As I type this, home in my office, I look up at my Marque Money box, a simple stained redwood with gold hasp keeping it shut and my initials in gold on the inside, and continue to ponder making my marque, imagining the spider chyrsanthemums cascading down my shoulders))

I arrived at my station and I took calls before carrying bags one at a time up the stairs. Rogueboi was still out of commission, so I and my bags took the trip to his house slowly- no need to rush. This was the day to bring the partuy to him after all. Having been unable to attend TES Fest due to a herniated disk in his back, a few of us had conspired to bring some of the joy of the event to him.

We learned about some of the things you can do with Hubbards.
We learned about how to properly break in a new pair of custom boots, christening them under the desire of leather gloves and anticipation.
We learned how beautiful a GummiBear can be, our post-apocalyptic pizza delivery man.
We saw BBJim blossom into the BootDaddy that he is, my feet cursing him as I screamed and next to me other men moaned.
We felt decadent with choclate and vanilla-cherry icecream.
We decided that Hubbards in one’s mustache can be sexy.
Gummibear got his new pair of boots… hot stuff!

Eventually GummiBear and BBJim headed home, and after more kisses, Rogueboi and I got to sleep as well.
