To Fairyland and Back

I spent the past two weeks out at Ramblewood, one of the most magical places to me in the world. I have been coming to the land for 11 years now, and have a tattoo on my flesh that I had done after a decade. I have been there not only for Free Spirit Gathering and Dark Odyssey: Fusion (the two events my partner and I attended this trip), but also Sacred Sexuality Beltane, Rope Camp, Leather Retreat, Dark Odyssey: Summer Camp, Primal Arts Festival… and have even used the land for a writing retreat opposite a ghost hunters intensive.…

The Mystery Box Show

In Portland, Oregon, it was my pleasure to take to the stage in December at the Mystery Box Show. This fantastic storytelling night runs regularly, and features a wide variety of storytellers telling their experiences of sex – from famous folks to the gal next door. The story I told was one of going to a caning (yup, being hit with sticks) competition that led to my emotional healing from heartbreak. Of course German dominatrices help get over depression! That week was a crazy whirlwind with my sweetie Butterfly down from Anchorage to Seattle, a drive down to Portland by…

Down to the mats

They went down to the mats. Two bodies pinning each other down in turn, elbows into chests and knees into groins. Ferocious passion bubbled up as smiles became growls became moans. A full nelson became a sign of affection. Hair pulling spoke of their desire. When all was said and done, they looked up. The eyes of the crowd were on them, and their experience changed. They looked around and one of their best friends had been watching, and it changed again. Their former spouse was then seen walking away… transforming the encounter once more. If we are used to…

Veins

My hand runs along the ground, dirt under my fingerpads. Long hair catches the wind, and I turn away for a moment as my fingers make contact. White flashes underneath, catches my eye. Catching my eye, my fingers dust away the layer of dirt over the veins beneath me. I knew they were there, but never looked and saw. I knew they were there, pulsing white, pulsing white. I knew they were there, pulsing white. Dust me away from the chaff. I find the white and my fingers make contact. Body locks in place, eyes wide, eyes white, pulsing white.…

Wrapped

I saw you dreaming the starry sky In the morning as I crawled from our bed Your legs wrapped in cream And a sunbeam dancing across your hips When we love, when we embrace, where do our embraces lead?  To disheveled streets and imperfect connections, longing and hope wrapped in who we want to be reflected in each other’s eyes.  I see those eyes before me, and the mirrors show me so many me-s. Show me the strength you see In me when I become your mate and master Your legs wrapped in dream And my sunshine holding your starry…

Awakening the Ruby Pentacle

It a room lit with candles, surrounded by mandalas, I was joined this Saturday by 12 other souls, 13 of us in total, to explore a new rite- Awakening The Ruby Pentacle.  Honor-Integrity-Discipline-Responsibility-Purpose.  Inspired by Saturday, I share the story of unfolding, and details about, The Ruby Pentacle. (For those only interested in the details of the Ruby Pentacle, and not the story or other Pentacle Working, scroll down to the topic line “The Ruby Pentacle” below) I have been exploring Feri Tradition and some of its spin-off concepts for a few years now.  In February 2008 I sat and…

The Pegasus and The Centaur

I have been a very happy Pegasus for most of my life.  I love flying, love the way the clouds taste as the tickle the underside of my nose.  There is something delectable about saving Greek heroes from their folly, showing up unexpected with just the thing to say. It is not always easy being a monster, but I like it.  I feel good with it. “You are not a monster” I hear a lot of folks tell me.  Monsters have tentacles and fangs and gore dripping from their pores.  Monsters plague dreams.  But I tell you, no, I am…

Edible Alchemy: Ugly Cakes

There are things in life that are not beautiful. I have seen beauty in so many forms, tasted the skies of potential for my spirit through observing a sunrise, known the power of all that is by taking in an artist in the height of their creativity.  We each of our own perception of beauty, and yet we know it when we see it. Ugly Cakes are not beautiful. I dicovered Ugly Cakes as an accident, as many of the best culinary and emotional connections are discovered.  I was supposed to have a date with pinwheel roll-up pumpkin bread or…
