*to whomever paints it, colors me theirs*

*to whomever paints it, colors me theirs*
by Lee “Bridgett” Harrington

across a dream
crossed by screams
I call for you to ride away from your complacency
Ride the waterways of my body
My veins
Your hands stern but soft would row the way
Along my valley
Waters
Lakes
Streams
Past the rapids of my heart
Into the vast ocean of my soul

***

let me sing your mind
your tongue
paint my sweat upon your brow
bind you in my acrylics
watercolors
pastels
or the lyrics of my life

***

be my palette
let me brush you across my body
let my skin
tell the tales
of our loving

***

the roofs here are blood brown
colors of stagnancy in a sunset
sunrise paintbox
we shall paint our house purple red
fuchsia white
and let our children know
all the colors of creation

***

let me not be watercolor to wash off
let me be your india ink

***

blending blurring knotting swirling
painting a dream
along the waterways of our life
